Corporate gift items compared: ten types, who each suits, worked orders of about ₹2 lakh and how many weeks ahead to confirm

Most corporate gift items fall into ten types, from desk sets and bottles to bags, tech and apparel. The type matters more than the idea, so start with who gets the gift and where they'll use it. We usually work with 40 units per design. If you need fewer, tell us and we'll work something out.

Every example below comes from our full catalogue, and the table further down puts all ten types side by side. For the current price, open the product page or ask us for the catalogue.

The rule: choose the type by who receives it and where they use it

Settle the person and the place first, and most types rule themselves out. The usual mistake runs the other way: someone picks an item from a list of ideas, then tries to work out who it suits.

A polo needs a size, a charger needs the right phone, and a kettle needs a kitchen that doesn't already have one. None of those are bad gifts. They're just wrong for a buyer who doesn't know the answer yet.

Who receives it: clients, staff or event guests

Clients need a gift that doesn't depend on size or taste, staff can take something more personal, and event guests need something easy to carry away. Start there, because this one choice decides most of what follows.

  • Clients. You rarely know their size or what's already on their desk, so a boxed set is the safer type. The Ring Edge Elite Corporate Essentials set holds a B5 organiser, a card holder, a pen, a 500 ml insulated bottle, a keychain and a 32 GB pendrive.
  • Staff. You can ask them, so apparel works here in a way it doesn't for clients. The UCB polo T-shirt page says it takes logo embroidery.
  • Event guests. A guest has to carry the gift home after the event, so go flat and light. The DailyObjects Align A5 Hardcover Notebook 2.0 fits in a bag.
The Ring Edge Elite Corporate Essentials set: a black ring-bound organiser beside its box, with a card holder, pen, pendrive, keychain and bottle in foam slots.

An order of the polo for staff shows the scale: about 300 units at around ₹700 a head comes to about ₹2 lakh.

Where it gets used: at the desk, on the commute or at home

A gift that matches a daily place gets used, so pick one of three: the desk, the commute or the home. Each one points to a different group of types.

Buying for a mixed group and stuck? I'd go for drinkware, because a bottle or tumbler needs no size, no charger and no phone check. About 270 Stanley Style Premium Tumblers at around ₹750 a head comes to about ₹2 lakh.

Which types take a logo, and where it goes

We add your logo, names or a monogram, but only a few product pages name the method. Apparel and one notebook do, and for everything else you should ask before you plan around a spot on the item.

Pick the spot early, because a small bottle or a busy backpack gives you less room than a notebook cover. Some items also carry their maker's name, so your logo has to sit clear of it. Our guide to how branding works on bulk gifts covers the methods.

We send a proof or order summary for you to approve before production starts. Check it line by line before you approve it.

How it ships: size, weight and many addresses

Small, flat items are the easiest to send to many addresses, and appliances and large bags are the hardest. We ship anywhere in India, to one address or to each recipient. None of the figures in this guide include shipping, so send your address list with your quote request.

For the North East, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and the islands, ask us for a date first.

When to confirm the order

Confirm your order and artwork at least 5 weeks before the gifts must arrive, or 6 weeks if those weeks include 24 December to 3 January. Confirmation means you've confirmed the order and approved the artwork.

Orders ship within 12 to 14 working days of order confirmation. After dispatch, allow up to 3 working days in Delhi NCR and up to 6 working days elsewhere in India. Our team takes a year-end break, and nothing ships in that window.

Corporate gift items compared: ten types at a glance

The table shows what each type suits, which logo method a product page states, and one real example from the catalogue. The types follow the catalogue's own categories, so one item can sit in two of them.

Going past one example? About 150 Frido seat cushions at around ₹1,400 a head comes to about ₹2 lakh. Every order of this size still leaves out GST, branding and shipping.

If you're starting from a budget, not a type, try our lists of gifts under ₹500 and gifts under ₹1,000. Our guide to what gifts from ₹1,000 to ₹2,000 buy covers the next band up.
