Wedding Hamper for Guests: Box, Bag or Basket?

Which format suits a wedding hamper for 200 or more guests: a box that ships, a bag for the hand-out, or a basket for a few. Worked orders come to about ₹2 lakh or more, and we can take care of the whole order.

Wedding hamper for guests: box, bag or basket compared by how it reaches the guest, with round order figures and the 7-week confirm-by rule

Use a box if the hamper has to travel, a bag if you hand it out at the venue, and a basket only for a handful of close-family hampers. How each hamper reaches the guest decides the format, so settle that first.

This guide is for families hosting 200 guests or more, and our wedding return gifts and hampers page shows the full range. For a box, the LOYKA Pushp Vatika Box works out like this: about 200 units at around ₹1,200 a head comes to about ₹2.3 lakh.

GST, branding and shipping come on top. For the current price, open the product page or ask us for the catalogue.

Wedding hamper for guests: choose by how it reaches them

Start with how each hamper gets to the guest: couriered to a home, handed over at the venue, or set out by the family. Each route points to a different format, and the table puts a round cost on each for the whole list.

Box: when the hamper travels or ships to each guest

A box suits a hamper that is couriered or carried home, because it closes and stacks in a carton. We ship anywhere in India, to one address or to each recipient, so a boxed hamper can go straight to a guest's home.

The LOYKA Pushp Vatika Box lists almond brittle packs, almond florentine, a kunafa pistachio choco bar, caramel almonds and a candle. The LOYKA Select Regal Tin lists ten items, from almond brittle and cashew brittle to choco dates, a peri peri cashew pouch and a trail mix pouch.

The LOYKA Pushp Vatika Box, a red gift box with a floral print and a ribbon, open to show almond brittle packs, a pistachio bar and pouches of caramel almonds.

Bag: when you hand it out at the venue

A bag is quick to hand out: one per guest by the exit, the same design for everyone. Pack and count the bags before the day, put one person at the door, and nobody has to choose or ask.

The Wedding Hamper Bag is listed at 12 x 14 x 4 inches, in height, length and width. The orders below pair it with a sweets box or a dry fruit potli, and the listing doesn't say what fits inside, so ask us before you commit.

Basket: for a few close-family hampers, not 200 guests

A basket looks full, but it's the awkward one to pack and carry at this size. It's open on top, so the contents shift on the way, and it doesn't stack, so 200 baskets take a lot of floor space in storage.

I haven't costed a basket, because it doesn't suit a list this long. If the family wants baskets for its own few hampers, I'd keep them out of the main order. That way the rest of the list stays one design, in a box or a bag.

What goes inside, and what to leave out

Fill the hamper with sealed, packaged items you can get 200 of in the same pack, and leave out anything loose or one-off. Sweets and dry fruit both come in fixed pack sizes, which makes 200 of the same easy to order.

The GoDesi Classic Kaju Katli Box 400 grams and the GoDesi Motichoor Laddoo Box 400 grams are packaged sweets. The laddoo listing says it's made with Bengal gram flour, ghee and cardamom powder.

The Happilo Dry Fruit Potli 500gm lists almonds, cashew nuts, pistachios and green raisins. Our dry fruit boxes page lists more.

Leave out loose, unwrapped items that can spill inside a bag, anything that needs a fridge, and any one-off find you can't repeat 200 times.

Three orders costed for 200 to 300 guests

Each order below reaches about ₹2 lakh or more. Change the guest count and the total moves with it, since each line is one multiplication.

Box or bag, we pack it: what a hamper order with us covers

Looking for hampers for 200 guests or more? We can take care of all of it. Doing it yourself means sourcing the box or bag and every item, then packing and counting 200 hampers. With us it is one order: one design for every guest, filled, packed and shipped from our Delhi warehouse.

  • One design for the whole list, so there is one proof to approve and one pack-out.
  • The couple's names or a monogram added to the order, with a proof for you to approve before production starts.
  • Packing in the Wedding Hamper Bag for a hand-out, or in an outer box such as the MDF Magnetic Box, a rigid box with a magnetic closure, when the hampers travel.
  • Shipping anywhere in India, to one address or to each recipient, with a GST invoice for the order.

We usually work with 40 units per design. If you need fewer, tell us and we'll work something out.

Confirm your order and artwork at least 7 weeks before the wedding. Confirmation means you have confirmed the order and approved the artwork. Orders ship within 12 to 14 working days of order confirmation.

After dispatch, allow up to 3 working days in Delhi NCR and up to 6 working days elsewhere in India. Our team takes a year-end break, and nothing ships in that window. For the North East, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and the islands, ask us for a date first.

If we get it wrong, such as a defect, a misprint, transit damage or a short shipment, we fix, replace, credit or refund it.

Send your guest count and wedding date through the contact page, and tell us which format you're leaning towards. You can also see the full range on our wedding page.
