New Year gifts for clients: send them for the first week back

Seven New Year gifts for clients, and what an order looks like

The seven gifts below cover a tumbler, a boxed pen and notebook, two executive sets, a wireless charger with a clock, and a tech organiser. Pick one for all your clients, or two if you want to tier them.

Quantity counts per design, so a client list can take two gifts. Take 110 clients. Send 50 of your largest accounts the Smart Pro 7 set at around ₹2,400 a head, and give the other 60 the Sheaffer gift set at around ₹1,400. That comes to about ₹2 lakh.

Before the year-end break or the first week back?

Aim for the first week back unless the gift has to reach the client before the year ends. That route leaves the most time to collect addresses and approve artwork.

Confirm your order and artwork at least 5 weeks before the gifts must arrive, or 6 weeks if those weeks include 24 December to 3 January. Our team takes a year-end break, and nothing ships in that window.

A thank-you that lands before Christmas needs 5 weeks, because the break falls after it. A gift that lands after the break needs 6, because the break falls inside the weeks you count back. Our guide on when a client gift should arrive covers the rest of the year.

From approved artwork to dispatch

The clock starts when you approve the artwork, not when you first ask for a quote. Confirmation means you have confirmed the order and approved the artwork.

1. You confirm the order and approve the proof or order summary we send.
2. Orders ship within 12 to 14 working days of order confirmation.
3. After dispatch, allow up to 3 working days in Delhi NCR and up to 6 working days elsewhere in India.

Working days run Monday to Friday, not counting public holidays. Because of the year-end break, an order confirmed in time can leave our Dwarka warehouse before it starts and reach the client before the year ends. Read the first working week as the latest the gift should land, not the only week it can.

For the North East, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and the islands, ask us for a date first. Missed the window? Ask us, and we will tell you honestly whether it can still arrive in time.

What changes the total

Four choices move the total past the gift itself: packaging, branding, the number of addresses and a printed note. GST then applies on top of the whole order.

Packaging

The Elite Tan and Smart Pro 7 sets come in fitted gift boxes, as their product photos show. The Sheaffer pen and notebook are sold as a gift set. A single item, such as the tumbler or the Voltclock, looks more like a gift in its own box. Four add-ons cover most needs:

Ask for the box with your quote, so it sits in the same per-head figure as the gift.

Branding

One office or each client's address

We ship anywhere in India, to one address or to each recipient. Sent to each client, 110 gifts mean 110 parcels and 110 addresses to check. Shipping is not in the figures above.

Will your team hand the gifts over in person at January meetings? Then one delivery to your own office is simpler. Either way, send us the address list with your quote request.

A printed note from a named sender

A printed message insert adds only a little to each box. Print one message, the same in every box, signed by the person who works with these clients. A real name tells the client who the thank-you is from.

Settle these before you confirm

Settle these four details before you approve the artwork, because confirmation starts the shipping clock.

• The client address list. For each client, collect a name, company, full address with pincode and a phone number. If a client's office is closed between Christmas and New Year, ask who will take in a parcel that week.
• One approver for the artwork. Name one person on your side to sign off the proof, and ask them to check the logo and every name line by line before they approve it.
• The client's gift policy. Some companies cap what their staff may accept, so check with your contact before you pick the costliest set. Our guide to corporate gifting policies covers the rules on gifts received.
• GST and tax. Every order comes with a GST invoice. Companies generally cannot claim input tax credit on goods given away as gifts (CBIC Circular 92/11/2019-GST, 2019). A GST invoice does not mean you can claim it. Tax rules can also apply to gifts to business contacts. Ask your CA.
