# Christmas gifts for employees: hampers or desk kits, and when to confirm

Pick a hamper if the gift should be opened and shared over the holidays, and a desk kit if you want it on desks in the new year. Confirm your order and artwork at least 5 weeks before the gifts must arrive, or 6 weeks if those weeks include 24 December to 3 January.

Picking Christmas gifts for employees is honestly the easy part. What catches teams out is the design count and the confirm-by rule. ## What Christmas gifts for employees cost for a big team

The two types overlap: the priciest hamper costs about the same as the cheapest desk kit. None of the eight is Christmas-printed. They're everyday gift boxes and desk kits, so nothing looks dated in January, and we add your logo.

## Hamper or desk kit: which fits your team?

A hamper suits a team that will share it at home over the holidays, and a desk kit suits a team that will use it all year. The Prestige 5 in 1 Business Set is the biggest spend of the eight, with five items and a paper bag.

Food comes with a question a desk kit doesn't: will everyone actually eat what's in the box? Check each item against your team's dietary needs before you pick one hamper for everybody. If I had to choose for a mixed team, I'd lean towards a desk kit, because it skips the dietary question.

Headcount decides how much choice you get. A team of 200 could run hampers for one office and desk kits for another, with 40 or more of each. A team that size can also keep it simple with one design for everyone.

## When should you confirm a Christmas order?

Confirm your order and artwork at least 5 weeks before the gifts must arrive, or 6 weeks if those weeks include 24 December to 3 January. Gifts that must arrive before the year-end break fall under the 5 weeks, and gifts for the new year fall under the 6.

Confirmation means you've confirmed the order and approved the artwork. So the real deadline is your artwork sign-off, not the day the gifts must arrive. Behind that sign-off sit two more steps.

1. You confirm the order and approve the artwork proof.
2. Orders ship within 12 to 14 working days of order confirmation.
3. After dispatch, allow up to 3 working days in Delhi NCR and up to 6 working days elsewhere in India.

Working days run Monday to Friday, not counting public holidays. Our team takes a year-end break, and nothing ships in that window.

For the North East, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and the islands, ask us for a date first. Missed the date? Ask anyway, and we'll tell you straight whether it can still arrive in time.

## What moves the cost

Three choices push the total past the gift itself: packaging, branding and how many addresses the gifts go to. GST then sits on top of all three.

### Packaging

### Branding

We add your logo and send you a proof or order summary to approve before production starts. The sums above don't include branding, so confirm that cost with your quote. Check the proof line by line before you approve it.

### One office or many home addresses

We ship anywhere in India, to one address or to each recipient. If everyone works in one building, office Christmas gifts for employees go to a single address. Home delivery for 300 people means 300 parcels and 300 addresses to check.

## Before you confirm the order

Settle these three things before you confirm.

- **The address list.** For home delivery, you'll need each person's name, full address with pincode and a phone number.
- **One approver.** Name one person on your side to sign off the artwork proof.
- **GST.** Every order comes with a GST invoice. Companies generally can't claim input tax credit on goods given away as gifts ([CBIC Circular 92/11/2019-GST](https://cbic-gst.gov.in/pdf/circular-cgst-92.pdf), 2019). A GST invoice doesn't mean you can claim it. Ask your CA.

One more check for HR. From 1 April 2026, the Income-tax Rules, 2026 set a yearly limit of ₹15,000 for tax-free gifts, vouchers and tokens from an employer to each employee ([KPMG](https://kpmg.com/xx/en/our-insights/gms-flash-alert/2026/flash-alert-2026-081.html), 2026). The limit counts every such tax-free gift to one person across the tax year, not each occasion ([Mint](https://livemint.com/money/personal-finance/employer-gifts-up-to-15-000-now-tax-free-heres-what-salaried-taxpayers-need-to-know-about-the-higher-limit-11788970097263.html), 2026).

Sources word the limit in two ways. KPMG says the yearly total of tax-free gifts must not exceed ₹15,000, while Mint reports the rule as a total below ₹15,000.
